Honoring Excellence at all Levels of Football

Player of the Week Awards

Each week during the 2018 season the Maxwell Football Club will recognize outstanding performances with two weekly awards. The Maxwell Player of the Week Award will be recognized for overall performance on offense, defense or special teams, and the Chuck Bednarik Player of the Week Award will be honored for outstanding defensive play. Players selected do not have to be represented on the Maxwell or Bednarik Award watch lists.

  • Quinnen Williams
Quinnen Williams Bednarik Player of the Week (Week 7)

With all of the attention the offense has been generating in Tuscaloosa, is anyone taking notice of No. 92 this fall? Williams has been quietly dominating at the point of attack, week-in and week-out. Bama held the potent Mizzou offense to just 10 points, as Williams provided his usual heat from the interior with seven stops, two tackles for loss, a sack and two pressures of QB Drew Lock.

  • Jarrett Guarantano
Jarrett Guarantano Maxwell Player of the Week (Week 7)

The Vols have finally snapped their 11-game SEC losing streak, getting a career day from their sophomore quarterback. Guarantano didn’t just go 21-of-32 for 328 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions, he also did it against the stout Auburn D… at Jordan-Hare Stadium… to earn Pro Football Focus’ highest quarterback grade of Week 7.
