Maxwell Football Club 2007 National High School Position Awards

The Maxwell Football Club in conjunction with Sportslink Inc. today announced the 2007 National High School Position Player of the Year Awards. Players across the nation were evaluated during the fall by the Maxwell Club / Sportslink selection committee and eleven players were selected to represent this first class of award winners

2007 High School Maxwell Award Winners include:

Quarterback, Terrelle Pryor, Jeannette High School (Jeannette, PA)
Running Back, Darrell Scott, St. Bonaventure High School (Ventura, CA)
Wide Receiver, DeVier Posey, LaSalle High School (Cincinnati, OH)
Tight End, Kyle Rudolph, Elder High School (Cincinnati, OH)
Offensive Line, Michael Brewster, Edgewater High School (Orlando, FL)
Defensive Line, Marcus Forston, Miami Northwestern High School (Miami, FL)
Linebacker, Arthur Brown, East High School (Wichita, KS)
Defensive Back, Patrick Johnson, Blanche Ely High School (Pompano Beach, FL)
Punter, Ben Buchanan, Westerville Central High School (Westerville, OH)
Kicker, Blair Walsh, Cardinal Gibbons High School (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Outstanding Junior, Matt Barkley, Mater Dei High School (Santa Ana, CA)

Jeanette High School quarterback Terrell Pryor will represent the group of winners at the Maxwell Football Club’s National Awards Dinner that will be held on Friday March 7, 2008 at the Harrah’s Atlantic City Resort. The Maxwell Club will also be presenting its’ collegiate and professional awards at the event. Pryor is generally considered to be the top high school recruit in the nation and led the Jayhawks to the PIAA AA State Championship. Pryor has been recognized as the US Army National Player of the Year and was also the MVP of the All American Bowl leading his East team to victory.

The Maxwell Football Club has been honoring football players at all levels of the game since 1935. Over the years the Club has recognized thousands of high school players in the Philadelphia region. Together with Sportslink a New Jersey sports marketing company and parent of the US Army All American Bowl and elite football training camp Air 7 QBU / Football University, the Maxwell Club instituted the national high school awards program. The formal presentation of the awards was made on January 5th at the US Army All American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
