College Awards Voting

The National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) announced today that ten college football awards have joined forces to name their 2001 finalists.  Awards participating include the Bednarik Award, the Biletnikoff Award, the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, the Lou Groza Award, the Ray Guy Award, the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award, the Outland Trophy, the Jim Thorpe Award and the Doak Walker Award.   

Maxwell Award finalists: 

• Eric Crouch, Sr., Nebraska

• Ken Dorsey, Jr., Miami (Fla.)

• Rex Grossman, So., Florida

Chuck Bednarick finalists:

• Rocky Calamus, Sr., Oklahoma

• Dwight Freeney, Sr., Syracuse

• Julius Peppers, Jr., North Carolina

Award winners will be announced on the Home Depot College Football Awards Show, airing live on ESPN on Thursday, December 6 at 9:00 p.m. EST.
